OLAFUR ELIASSON:
YOUR COLOUR MEMORY
Winner, 2007 Creativity Awards: Book Design
Eliasson's Your Colour Memory was an oval-like room with walls that emitted a shifting, color-saturated light. After spending time in the space, a viewer’s experience was affected as much by afterimages than by the projected color itself.
This phenomenon was the basis for the 96-page book that followed the exhibition, held at Arcadia University Art Gallery. Readers experience a graphic version of the installation while reading essays about historical and contemporary color theory.
